Josh Agle (probably better known as Shag, a contraction of the last two letters of his first name and the first two letters of his last) is a painter and illustrator who specializes in recreating 50's & 60's style graphics. Shag paintings pay homage to 50's lounge culture with illustations of zombie jazz bands, beatnik chicks, and red devils in lounge attire. Are you are looking for inspiration choosing the perfect gift for your favorite tiki lover? Check out Shag!!!

Josh Agle, "Shag," spends his days painting in a tiki-filled studio. His tiki treasures have hit the 500 mark, with a pretty even split between carved masks or statues, and ceramics such as mugs and salt and pepper shakers. Shag spent eight years in Hawaii and thinks maybe that's what drew him to the Polynesian restaurant in 1985, where he became mesmerized by tikis and made his first tiki purchase. Now his friends are contributing to the collection.
