FUN TIKI DRINK FACTS

The Singapore Sling was invented in the early 1900's at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. The name may derive from the German word "schlingen" which means "to swallow".

The Mai Tai was invented by Victor Bergeron (founder of Trader Vic's). Desiring a new rum drink, he mixed his first Mai Tai in 1944 for some visiting Tahitian friends, who proclaimed it "Mai tai-roe ae" (which means, "out of this world - the best").

The Zombie is a legendary drink that was created by Los Angeles barmeister Don the beachcomber, owner of the famed Beachcomber which opened in 1934. He never gave away his original recipe, but many have tried to replicate this tiki drink.
